Project Overview:

USAMMDA is the Army’s medical materiel developer, responsible for all medical and dental equipment and supplies fielded to Army units. USAMMDA program managers are responsible for portfolios of products, including therapeutics, health IT, equipment, and assemblages. The Warfighter Health, Performance, and Evacuation (WHPE) project management office develop, rapidly prototype, and procure medical support products for field hospital infrastructure, preventive medicine, combat casualty care support systems, military operational medicine, and ground and aeromedical evacuation vehicles to sustain and support the Warfighter.

Role Description: This position provides systems integration engineering support for product development of systems such as the Health Readiness and Performance System (HRAPS). The role involves applying engineering principles for effective integration of technology(s) into a system of systems using an incremental, phased approach.

Specific functions include the following:

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend Government off the shelf (GOTS) and Commercial off the shelf (COTS) sensors, algorithms and decision support applications based on user requirements, technology maturity, and availability for inclusion to programs of record
  • Draft technical instructions, engineering plans, technical designs, and other sensor and system-of-systems engineering documents
  • Develop engineering plans to integrate new sensors and applications into existing products and networks
  • Guide development of user requirements to improve existing products e. Apply expertise in signal processing to guide the development of various physiological and environmental sensors and applications f. Support and lead other special projects as required
