Position Description: Global InfoTek is seeking an Information Technology System Lead responsible for installing and administrating information systems, applications, and services utilized by corporate and project-based users. This person will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and troubleshooting of these systems. In addition, they will also be responsible for supervising, training, and mentoring of additional IT staff members. Daily duties will include tasks such as:

  • Ensuring the environments are secure and comply with any necessary security guidance provided to them by company security staff.
  • Verifying the IT environment is regularly backed up and can be recovered if needed.
  • Performing management of user accounts
  • Performing management of user systems such as laptops and desktops.
  • Providing direct technical support to company users as needed.
  • Performing deployment of applications on servers and to user’s systems.
  • Performing regular firmware upgrades and patching of all IT systems.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and application issues at the server and user levels.
  • Performing deployment and management of public cloud-based resources on AWS and Azure.
  • Manage Microsoft 365-based Email and SharePoint services
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation for all components of the IT environment so that it is accurate and fully documented at all times.

Required Technical Skills

  • VMware vSphere 7 design, deployment, and management:
  • PC and Server hardware repair and troubleshooting: Required (Dell preferred)
  • Ubuntu Linux system’s administration:
  • Microsoft Windows Server system’s administration
  • Microsoft Windows Desktop OS and application deployment and configuration
  • Microsoft Active Directory:
  • Domain Naming System (DNS) and intermediate-level experience with Windows DNS server
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) management
  • Network Attached Storage (NAS): Required (Experience with QNAP preferred)
  • Backup and Recovery Software: Required (Experience with Veeam preferred)
  • Basic firewall concepts and operations
  • Systems hardening (i.e., STIG’ing)
  • Microsoft365 systems administration
  • Health and Performance monitoring tools usage

Highly Desirable Skill

  • AWS and Microsoft Azure systems administration
  • iSCSI and NFS shared storage deployment
  • Basic Layer 2/3 Networking Skills (i.e. Subnets, VLANs. Simple routing)
  • Security scanning tools usage
  • Log collection and monitoring tools usage
  • VMware View Virtual Desktop design, deployment, and management
  • Thin client management
